Wild pheasant hunting is a way of life on the Authier Ranch.
WOW! What a year 2008 was. More PHEASANTS than ever. The PHEASANT populations are at an all-time high. Our new facilities were a huge success and the prospects for another bumper crop of pheasants appear great.
We will start the 1st part of September and conclude the season by mid-December.
LOCATED 30 miles South of Pierre near the junction on U.S. 83 and Interstate 90. From Vivian, proceed North ½ mile, then East 2 miles, then South ½ mile.
We are not a game farm. In addition to our own land, we reserved hunting rights on over 4,000 acres, increasing our total hunting area to nearly 10,000 acres of farm and ranch land.
In 2006, we will start the 1st part of September and conclude the season in mid-December. We will also keep the limit at four cocks per day.
Facilities -
Our hunters will be accommodated at our ranch. We feature:
- Seven bedroom modernized farmhouse.
- Jacuzzi, Deck, Pool Table & Game Room.
- Five bedroom remodeled barn with private baths
- Five bedroom remodeled granary
- Two bedroom lodge with private baths and indoor dog kennels

- Van service available from the Rapid City or Sioux Falls airport for a fee

In addition, a 5% sales tax and a 10% gratuity, which is divided between our employees, will be added to the cost of the hunt.
Please enclose a $250 deposit per hunter per day.

The barn serves as a wonderful facility with five – bedrooms on the ground level and a bar and recreation area on the second level. The barn also has a large deck on the South side with trap shooting capabilities. This addition to the hunting operation has complemented our modern, eight – bedroom farmhouse. The “Barn” has provided greater flexibility in accommodating and entertaining hunting parties.
